On Windows, macOS, or Linux, open the OnlyFaxes home page in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, or any modern browser. The fax tool is ready the moment the page loads.
Choose your file
Click the upload area to browse for a PDF or image on your computer, or drag the file straight from your desktop or file manager onto the upload area. Multi-page documents are handled automatically.
Add the fax number and details
Enter the recipient's fax number and, if needed, toggle on a cover sheet with a subject and message. The number is auto-formatted for the US, Canada, UK, or Mexico so you only need the digits.
Send your fax
Enter your email for the delivery confirmation and click Send Fax. You will receive an email when the fax is confirmed delivered, typically within a few minutes.
Troubleshooting
- Drag-and-drop doesn't work
- Some corporate browsers or security extensions block drag-and-drop into web pages. Use the click-to-browse option instead, or try a different browser. On Windows, running the browser as Administrator can also interfere with drag-and-drop.
- File is not recognized
- Make sure the file has a supported extension (PDF, JPG, PNG, WEBP, TIF, BMP, GIF, HEIC, TXT). Rename it if the extension is missing or non-standard. Some document editors save files with custom extensions; export as PDF first.
- Multi-page document only shows the first page
- Make sure you are uploading a multi-page PDF or multi-page TIFF, not individual image files. If your document is a series of image files, upload them all and they will be combined into a single fax in the order you add them.
- Cover sheet text is cut off
- Cover sheet fields have character limits to ensure the text fits within the fax page. Shorten long messages or move detailed content into the document itself. The cover sheet is meant for a brief subject and message.
